Mattress bags and bed frames on a Kansas City move

A bag is not a sheet. A frame is not a mattress. How we bag a mattress and move the frame on a Kansas City local day — disassembly is a different page.

ARTICLE IMAGE

A mattress bag is plastic that keeps the truck floor off the sleep surface. It is not a fitted sheet and it is not shrink-wrap on a sofa. The frame is a separate carry. Beds and disassembly is bolts, bunks, and whether we put it back. This page is the bag and the frame as two items. Two ZIP codes: Get my price.

From [$XXX] an hour for two movers and a truck — two movers and a truck. Bags are on us when we move or pack. A bare mattress on a wet floor is how you buy another one. We will not write “licensed and insured.”

The bag

  • Every mattress that is coming gets a bag — memory foam included
  • Do not fold a king to “make the turn” — furniture that will not turn
  • Box springs and split kings: say the count. Two twins on a king frame is two bags plus a frame
  • A bag is not a roof. Rain still wants a covered path — rain and ice
  • Heat in August will cook a bagged mattress in a closed truck if we sit too long — we will not idle it as a plan — July and August
  • Pillows and bedding are boxes or a wardrobe, not stuffed in the bag — packing a bedroom

We can bring bags. If you bag it yourself, leave room to tape it closed. An open bag on a porch in sleet is an open bag — winter moving day. Kids’ mattresses follow the same rule — packing the kids’ rooms. The bed you slept in is last on, first off — moving-day morning, what to pack first.

The frame is furniture

Metal rails, a platform, a sleigh, an adjustable base — each is a wrap and a turn, not a bag. Pads on what will scratch — how we pad and wrap furniture. Hardware in a labelled bag taped to a rail — that sentence lives on the disassembly page. This page: do not leave slats loose in the hall. Do not lean a headboard on a glass table — packing the dining room, packing the living room.

A wall of built-in drawers is millwork until you say it is coming — what you are not taking. An adjustable base is heavier than a wood rail. Photo of the base and the stair — photos that get a written price. Stairs: stairs and tight turns. Walk-up: walk-ups. Elevator door vs a king platform: elevator reservations.

Long carry, shuttle, and a bagged mattress

A mattress on a two-block walk still needs a bag. The bag does not make the walk shorter — long carry and shuttle. Town home visitor bay: town homes. Parking: parking. HOA: HOA. Garage-first can keep a mattress out of the rain if the bay is empty — Blue Springs garage-first, garage as a room.

Labour only still needs bags if the mattress is coming — labour-only. Your truck, our pads. Storage as a middle stop, local only: storage. We will not write an interstate hold because the king will not turn. New construction with no pad: new-construction.

The rest of the bedroom is not the bag

Clothes: wardrobe or drawers — next queue item covers that fight. For now: empty heavy drawers — what movers need the week before. Labels: how to label boxes. Per box: standard $10–20, wardrobe $25–30, dish pack $30–40 — packing. Kitchen last: how to pack a kitchen. Bathroom: packing a bathroom. TVs in the same room: TVs. What stays off the truck: what not to put on the truck.

Awkward still needs a name: pianospiano moves, baby grand ([REAL JOB] stays). Safessafes. Chinachina and glass. Hot tubs. Pool tables. Applianceswasher and dryer, fridge prep, basement washers. White glovewhite glove vs standard.

Frequently asked questions

Do you supply mattress bags?

Yes, when we move or pack. A bare mattress on the truck floor is a no.

Is this the same as the beds and disassembly page?

That page is bolts and whether we put it back. This page is the bag and the frame as two items. Read both.

Can I use a fitted sheet instead?

No. A sheet is not a bag. Rain and a truck floor will find the cotton.

Split king — how many bags?

Two mattresses, two bags, plus whatever the base is. Say the count.

Will you bag a box spring?

Yes if it is coming. Say box spring or foundation. Photos help.
