Beds and disassembly in Kansas City
Mattress in a bag, frame apart if it will not turn, hardware in a labelled bag. We agree it on the quote — not at 4pm.
The bed is last on if someone is sleeping there that night, and first off at the other end. Mattress in a bag. Frame apart if it will not turn. We agree disassembly on the quote, not at 4pm. Closets and drawers are packing a bedroom and closet. This page is the bed.
Tell us how many beds and which floors. Two ZIP codes: Get my price. A photo of the frame and the stair beats “king in the master” — photos that get a written price.
What we need to know
- How many beds, and sizes if you know them
- Platform, sleigh, bunk, or a headboard that is half the wall
- Which floor now, which floor later — lift or walk-up
- Whether we take it apart and put it back, or apart only
- Adjustable bases and built-in drawers — say so
- The rest of the house move, or beds only
A bunk that was assembled in the room may not leave in one piece. Same measure-first habit as a dresser on a landing or a china cabinet.
Mattress and bag
Bag it. We can bring bags when we move or pack. A bare mattress on a truck floor in rain is how you buy another one — rain and ice moves. Memory foam still goes in a bag. Do not fold a king to “make it fit” a walk-up turn.
Box springs and split kings: say the count. Two twins on a king frame is a different carry than one slab.
The frame and the hardware
Bolts go in a labelled bag taped to a rail or handed to you. We will not invent a missing Allen key at the new place. If you take it apart yourself, keep the bag. If we take it apart, we bag it. Reassembly is only what we wrote — a sleigh bed with a cracked rail is a furniture shop, not a promise we will rebuild it prettier.
A wall of built-in drawers is not a bed we unbolt in an hour. Say if it is furniture or millwork. What you are not taking if it stays with the house.
Stairs and building types
A walk-up almost always means the frame comes apart. A town home lift may take it whole if the cab is wide enough — photos of the lift door. An Independence split landing will not invent space for a king assembled. A Raytown ranch guest bed in the basement is a second flight.
Morning-of: the bed you slept in is last — moving-day morning. School-year dates in Lee's Summit still need that bed up before Monday if that is the deal.
Labour-only and packing
Labour only still needs bags and a plan for the frame. Your truck, our people — we will not discover a bunk at noon. More: labour-only moving. Wardrobes and linen stay on packing and the bedroom guide. White glove is more wrap, not a different wrench — white glove vs a standard house move.
Price
A bed does not usually move a $1,200–$1,500 local job alone. Four bedrooms, bunks, and a walk-up will. That is what changes the price. From [$XXX] an hour for two movers and a truck. I quote it — about. Call (913) 957-9311.
We will not write “licensed and insured.” Google stays [X.X] · [XXX] reviews. Compare the same disassembly line — comparing Kansas City movers. Johnson County: Johnson County house move checklist. Kansas pages unpublished. Live list: service areas. Nearby: Kansas City, Blue Springs, Grandview. Book in the four weeks if you can. TVs in the same room: TVs and electronics.
Frequently asked questions
Do you put the bed back together?
If we wrote it. Hardware in a bag. A broken slat is not a rebuild we invent on the day.
Can I leave the mattress unbagged?
No. Bag it. We can supply bags. A dirty truck floor is not a sheet.
What about an adjustable base?
Say so. It is heavier and it may need more hands than a wood frame. Photos help.
We have bunks the kids assembled themselves.
Assume they come apart. Photos of the stair. We will not force a bunk around a landing.
